Macartney leaves city council
Tom Macartney, managing director of the North Staffordshire Regeneration Partnership (NSRP) and director of Regeneration, has announced he is leaving Stoke-on-Trent City Council. He is expected to stay in his £150,000 post until the end of September.
Hardial Bhogal, the chief operating officer of the NSRP, will take temporary control of the department.
Macartney has worked for the council since May 2007, when he held the post of lead officer for the NSRP which works with partners coordinating regeneration plans across North Staffordshire.
As director of Regeneration, he also managed transport, planning, property services, economic development and the Housing Renewal programme for the city council.
Macartney said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working here and I am really excited about the tremendous progress in the university quarter, central business district and the East West shopping precinct.
“I am particularly proud of the launch of the British Ceramics Biennial in the city that has been recognised as the world capital of ceramics.”
