University honours list revealed
Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman Steve Morgan heads the names on this year's honours list from the University of Wolverhampton. Morgan will receive an Honourary Degree of Doctor of Letters alongside Ian Powell, chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Powell, a graduate of the University, will be presented with an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Business Administration.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Caroline Gipps said: “We are delighted to award honorary degrees to figures who have made an outstanding contribution to their field and offer inspiration to our graduates. We look forward to welcoming them to our graduation ceremonies in September.”
Additional names to receive the honour this year include high-profile barrister Michael Mansfield QC, who has represented the Bloody Sunday families and Stephen Lawrence’s family, and John Sharples, a former chairman of governors in recognition of his contribution to the mission of the University of Wolverhampton.
The ceremonies will take place between 1 and 10 September at the Wolverhampton grand Theatre.
