More than 40 Walsall companies have signed up to a business support programme which offers bespoke mentoring sessions. The £300,000 Winning Opportunities in Walsall (WOW) scheme is working with manufacturers, professional service firms and technology companies to help them engage with aspects of innovation to protect and create hundreds of jobs.

The programme includes a series of seminars designed to engage with and advise businesses in the region, which will begin this week.

“Our first seminar kicks off on the 3 August and is the start of an eight-week programme of activity that will introduce companies to WOW and what we can do for them, before taking them through a host of essential business topics,” explained Roy Bayliss, the project lead.

“Each of the sessions will focus on providing a hands-on approach to tackling key issues that will help firms win sales, launch new products and develop long-term growth plans.”

The programme is funded by Walsall Partnership through Walsall council.
