...and Travis Perkins builds on its acquisition

Share | |

Builders merchant Travis Perkins has announced an increase in revenue of 5 per cent to £1,522m for the six months to 30 June 2010. The Northampton-based firm also announced an adjusted pre tax profit of £112m, an increase of 24 per cent on its 2009.

The period also saw the building giant purchase BSS group, and management says that the trading performance was “ahead” of expectations.

The firm’s net debt was also down to £410m, a £103m underlying reduction.

Geoff Cooper, chief executive, said: We have performed ahead of our expectations in the first half of 2010. We remain determined to further develop our customer propositions via an exciting programme of organic growth initiatives with the aim of stretching our lead over competitors.

“While we continue to see modest market growth following a severe recession, we view the future with confidence."
