WCCC scores with new finance director
Craig Flindall has been appointed in a newly created position at Warwickshire County Cricket Club (WCCC). Flindall joins the club as finance director following the commencement of a £32m redevelopment of its Edgbaston stadium.
Flindall previously worked at the corporate finance practice at Ernst and Young in Birmingham and was employed at KPMG in the city.
Flindall said: “This is a great opportunity for me to combine my professional expertise and love of cricket. I know from my time working with the club previously that plans to develop the business and the ground are ambitious but absolutely essential in order to maintain Edgbaston’s status as a leading international cricket venue.”
Prior to his appointment, Flindall worked with WCCC as part of the Ernst and Young team which helped produce its business plan in support of the redevelopment of the ground.
The ground recently announced a three-year sponsorship deal with Jaguar, which will give Jaguar naming rights to the ground’s hospitality lounge. The club is due to open following its redevelopment in July 2011.
