Baa Bar expands to Nottingham

Liverpool-headquartered bar and pub operator Baa Bar has announced plans to expand outside its North West heartland.

The company has secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Yorkshire Bank to open a new outlet in Nottingham in a move that has created 40 jobs.

“The UK pub industry is going through a very challenging time at the moment but Baa Bar is bucking the trend, opening new venues and expanding into new territories,” said chief executive Elaine Clarke.

The Nottingham bar is the first in an expansion plan that will see other venues open across the UK. The company was launched in 1991 and has since opened nine venues open in Liverpool, Wigan and Manchester.

Simon Berry, business partner at Yorkshire Bank’s financial services centre in Liverpool, said: “The new venue at Nottingham could be the first of many and Yorkshire Bank is working closely with them to support that growth.”
