Weather Lottery scores with Derby deal
Doncaster-based The Weather Lottery (TWL) has signed partnership contracts with Derby County FC and Sheffield Wednesday. It comes as the business is expanding into online gaming under the brand name FC Betz.com.
TWL has signed multi-year contracts with both clubs to become their gaming partners and will provide a full package of online gaming products to the clubs and their supporters. In addition TWL will run their lotteries under the new themed FC Lotto brand which TWL has created specially for the football market.
The contracts will start from the beginning of the football season in August with TWL providing in-stadia and online gaming to the fan bases.
The Weather Lottery chairman Lord Razzall said: "Derby County meets all the criteria we are looking for in our commercial partners. It has a strong fan base, an illustrious history and its ambitious owners have realistic Premier League prospects.
"Sheffield Wednesday has a strong history and a strong presence locally and nationally and is, we hope, likely to be moving up through the leagues in the near future."
