Widdowson drives home haulage deal
The Widdowson Group, the logistics provider based in Leicester, has won a haulage contract with LINPAC Storage Systems, a manufacturer of storage solutions.
The 12-month rolling contract which was awarded to Widdowson’s Transport Division covers the haulage of LINPAC’s products to customers across the UK.
David Sheppard, general manager of Milton Keynes-based LINPAC Storage Systems, said: “In the past, Widdowson was our chosen haulier for many years, so after a three-year break, when the contract came up for renewal we asked them to tender again.” The fee of the contract was undisclosed.
The Widdowson group operate over 120 vehicles across the UK. In May this year, the company announced business wins worth over £3m and the renewal of existing contracts to the value of £5m. The firm has a goal of a £30m turnover by 2013.
