Solihull’s Laser UK has reported a 35 per cent increase in sales to year end 2009 and says it is confident of becoming a billion pound business in 2010. The company, which operates under the Creation Financial Services, Creation Consumer Finance and Sygma Bank UK brands, provides credit to customers through credit cards and loans. It employs more than 600 people in Solihull and Belfast. Its latest figures show an increase in sales by 35 per cent to £850m and significant growth in credit card sales. There are plans to create another 120 jobs by the end of this year. Stephen Hunt, group managing director, said: “Our success this year has come after a number of years of heavy investment in our business to make sure that we had the best infrastructure and products in the market. We have started 2010 very strongly and we continue to focus on growing our business with a priority on opening up new markets and launching new products.” Laser UK is owned by French bank BNP Paribas and Galeries Lafayette, the largest department store group in France. Its clients include Flybe, Selfridges, JJB, DFS and a number of Premiership and Championship football clubs.
