Danwood snaps up Talbographic
Who?
Lincoln-based Danwood Group
Did what?
Has bought Blaby digital printing specialist Talbographic.
What does this mean?
Employing ten people, the Blaby company will move from its premises in Westleigh Business Park to Hamilton Business Park in Leicester in September under the Danwood name.
Who advised?
Talbographic, which supplies digital copiers, printers and business machines to businesses across the East Midlands, was advised on the sale by Martin Smith, corporate partner with Spearing Waite. Danwood was represented on the acquisition by its in-house legal team.
Insider comment:
That Danwood was advised by its in-house legal team may seem surprising, until you note that the company ad made about 30 acquisitions in the last decade. Talbographic should benefit from being brought under the consolidator’s wing, with a wider product range and position of strength within the industry.
Co-founder and director Cliff Best said: “Business sectors go though phases and much in the same way that we saw estate agents being acquired by larger groups a few years ago, it’s now our industry’s turn to see lots of acquisition activity.”
