Vantis on the brink as shares suspended

Share | |

Vantis, the accountancy firm with offices in Oadby and Birmingham, has suspended trading in its shares and is on the brink of extinction, it has emerged. A statement released by the company said: “Although discussions continue in relation to the disposal of certain of the company's assets as well as with both potential new investors and its debt providers, it can no longer be certain that it will continue to have sufficient funding to enable it to continue to trade on a going concern basis.” Paul Jackson and Nigel Hamilton-Smith have resigned as directors, and Steve Smith, currently finance director, will take over all executive responsibilities until a replacement chief executive is found. Both Jackson and Mr Hamilton-Smith will retain their executive duties within the Vantis group of companies.
