Bigwood auction nets nearly £9m
Auctioneer Bigwood reported strong demand throughout its May auction with more than 70 per cent of the lots sold and close to £9m achieved both in the auction and in sales agreed afterwards. More than 500 attended the auction held in the Holte Suite at Aston Villa’s ground. Particularly buoyant lots were offered by local authorities and there was strong appetite for the portfolio of former public houses. A freehold development site of just under one acre at Adderley Road, Saltley, Birmingham, achieved £285,000 from a reserve of £50,000.
