Alligator Self Storage has acquired a third storage centre in Birmingham, making it the largest self-storage operator in the city in terms of square footage. Alligator has bought the storage centre in Garretts Green on the east side of the city from Storage King. Its two existing self-storage centres, in Yardley in the east and Wednesbury in the west of the city, have been operating since the autumn of 2008. Alister Jack, Scottish entrepreneur and Alligator founder, said: “Birmingham is a key market for us. It is the second largest UK city and it has a vibrant economy. We have been looking for an opportunity to expand for some time.”
