Sports Direct saga continues to run
Sports Direct has said it is withdrawing its pursuit of Northamptonshire-based leisure company Blacks. The news comes in the same week that Blacks claimed some of its suppliers had said they would cut all ties with the company if it was bought by Sports Direct. The Blacks board would neither confirm nor deny the existence of these claims to Sports Direct, and yesterday the sportswear retailer said it was stepping back from any offer, claiming it “would not be in the best interest of shareholders”.
