NMC secures A46 contracts
Nottinghamshire civil engineering and building specialist North Midland Construction (NMC) has been awarded two contracts with a combined value of £2.75m on the A46 road widening scheme between Newark and Widmerpool in Nottinghamshire. The company’s utilities division has secured a contract with Balfour Beatty to install new water mains and BT and Virgin Media ducts along the A46 from Newark to Widmerpool. NMC’s civil engineering division has been awarded a contract to handle drainage diversions at Flintham, near Newark. The work will involve using a special bore and the installation of 800 metres of new sewer pipework 4 to 5 metres below the existing A46 carriageway.
