Safe deal for HSBC
HSBC Corporate Banking in the Midlands is part of a banking syndicate that has provided a £350m finance package for Safestore Holdings, the UK’s largest self-storage retailer. Hertfordshire-headquartered Safestore is a long-term customer of HSBC in the Midlands. It will use the increased group facility to grow the business by buying new stores and replacing older ones. Ian Sharp, HSBC senior global relationship manager in the Midlands, said: “We believe that the strength of the brand, along with the superior quality of its service and business model, will help to ensure its continued success in the long term.” The syndicate comprised seven members.
