Bigwood ends year on a high
Bigwood’s final property auction of 2009 raised approximately £6m, with more than 70 per cent of the lots sold on the day. More than 90 lots were offered at the Villa Park sale, with many selling for well above their guide price. The auction brought 2009 to a successful conclusion for the firm, which sold properties worth in the region of £40m during the year. Bigwood director Jonathan Hackett said vendors who were prepared to set enticing guide prices had been rewarded with extra attention from keen purchasers. "It really is a case of making sure you can attract that initial interest," he said. "One property in Broadyates Road, Yardley, which was offered with a guide price of £65,000 to £70,000, had 76 viewings and sold for £100,500."
