Dudley scheme underway
Work has commenced on a £16m extra care housing development in Dudley which will provide state-of-the-art facilities for the over 55s in the Black Country. Loughborough-based contractor and developer William Davis Ltd was joined by scheme partners Midland Heart, Dudley Council and prospective residents, to ‘turn the sod’, marking the start of what is set to become its flagship ‘extra-care’ development. The development on a 2.5 hectare site on Middle Park Road will be the first of its kind in Dudley and will complete in summer 2011. It will comprise 132 one and two-bedroom apartments.
