Property adviser Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed by Royal Mail to dispose of its Coventry Mail Centre and Lower Ford Street car park. The Mail Centre on Bishop Street in Coventry extends to more than 1.6 acres and comprises some 200,000 sq ft of mail-sorting accommodation. Jonathan Fear from Jones Lang LaSalle's Birmingham office said: "We anticipate the successful buyer of this unique site, which lends itself to a variety of uses subject to planning consent, will have some innovative ideas for conversion or redevelopment." An additional 0.6-acre site located on nearby Lower Ford Street, which is currently used for parking, is available separately or can be purchased with the Bishop Street premises, Fear said. The disposal of its Bishop Street and Lower Ford Street sites forms part of Royal Mail's rationalisation plans for a number of similar UK operations. Royal Mail is building two new delivery offices in Coventry to accommodate some of the Bishop Street Mail Centre staff.
