An historic East Midlands building has been commended at the prestigious RICS International Awards 2009. Wollaton Hall, the Grade I-listed Elizabethan mansion in Nottingham, received the commendation in the RICS Building Conservation category at a gala event at the Honourable Artillery Company in London. The £9m project to conserve and repair Wollaton Hall was recognised at the regional awards earlier this year when it won the RICS East Midlands Project of the Year Award and the regional RICS East Midlands Building Conservation Award. Castle House, a Grade I-listed building in Ludlow, was also highly commended.
