One Derby decision deferred

Share | |
Derby City Council has deferred the decision to award planning permission to the One Derby Scheme, which will bring 2,500 jobs to the city. Councillors have put a temporary block on the scheme after it emerged that the developer, Norseman, was only willing to put up £300,000 for the Section 106 agreement. Derby City Council wants £900,000. Plans for the £92m development include a hotel, five office blocks, restaurants, cafes and a public piazza. Steve Salloway, a managing partner at Salloway Property Consultants, which is marketing the 400,000 sq ft scheme, told Insider: "The decision was deferred which is disappointing, especially because an independent assessment clearly supported our proposal. However, discussions are ongoing."
