Insider’s fourth Wales Property Awards saw some great achievements celebrated against a tough economic background. These are the firms and individuals that dared to keep going while others slowed down, and perhaps deserved their awards all the more for that.
There’s no getting away from it - this has been a tough year for the property and construction sectors in Wales, with funding tight and values falling. Experienced players say they have never seen anything like it. Agents are leaving the office at 5pm rather than working late because there’s not a huge amount to work on.
But there is still activity. Deals are being struck, those with money are investing and developers are laying the foundations for the Wales of the future. There was no shortage of material for the judges to work on, and some of the decisions were really tough.
All the more reason to recognise the great things that are happening and the people that are making them happen - which is what Insider’s fourth Wales Property Awards were all about.
From the setting of Cardiff’s Mercure Holland House Hotel, this year’s awards showed the diversity of the sector and its impact across Wales. There were winners from Milford Haven and Caernarfon as well as Cardiff and Swansea. If there was a theme, it was that we are all in it together.
Heartiest congratulations to the winners and well done to those firms shortlisted and all who were nominated. At this most difficult time, your peers and partners in the industry reckon you are doing a great job.
