Insider Plymouth Economic Forum 2010
For full coverage of this event, click here.
Insider, the leading business magazine in the South West, is delighted to announce an exclusive panel and audience debate that brings together senior figures from the public and private sectors to discuss Plymouth’s economy, its redevelopment and future prospects. The event is to be held on Tuesday 28 September at Royal William Yard, Plymouth.
This important event will give a platform to some of the area’s key business people for what promises to be a wide-ranging debate that takes stock of the city’s economy and looks at the business landscape from every side.
It’s being held at a crucial moment for the city. The news that the Plymouth City Development Company is to close is one source of uncertainty, as is the gradual disbanding of the South West RDA. How will economic development efforts in the city be led in the future – and what is being lost along the way? How far can the private sector be expected to pick up the baton and help the city to thrive? Other issues likely to be discussed will include Plymouth’s recent rebranding exercise and the effectiveness or otherwise of the ‘Positively Plymouth’ message.
Our top-class panel will include:
TBA, South West RDA
Tom Bloxham, chairman, Urban Splash
Viv Gillespie, principal, City College Plymouth
Simon Chamberlain, chief executive, Succession Advisory Services
Graham Austin, corporate director for Devon & Cornwall, Barclays Corporate
