Our future is foreign, our opportunities are overseas: let’s celebrate the Midlands’ excellence in international trade.
Increasingly overseas trade is seen as the way in which the UK will revive its economic fortunes, and nowhere has taken that message more to heart than the Midlands. Last year the region exported about £40bn worth of goods and services, the highest total in more than a decade. Meanwhile the region is still attracting huge inward investment programmes such as Jaguar Land Rover’s engine plant in Wolverhampton and the HEROtsc contact centre in Derby.
So, to celebrate the region’s successes, we are pleased to announce the inaugural Insider Midlands International Trade Awards. This prestigious, black tie event - to be held in Birmingham on July 12th - will celebrate the accomplishments of companies involved with overseas trade and those international businesses investing in the Midlands.
