Date: Tue 16th September, 2008
Venue: ACC Liverpool, Chapel Street Liverpool, L3 9RE
ACC Liverpool’s chief executive Bob Prattey told the assembled audience of more than 100 property and business professionals that the arena has been embraced by the city and is already surpassing ambitious targets that were set for it. “I think we’ve hit the ground running faster than we ever thought we would do,” he said.
“The Capital of Culture effect has obviously been very significant. I think it has encouraged people to come in the first year rather than adopt a wait-and-see attitude and hold off until years two or three. But it’s clear that artists want to come and play Liverpool and the audience response for that has been unbelievable - the people of the city have really welcomed what we’re doing.”
