And the winners are…
Each year just seems to get bigger and better. The tenth edition of the Insider Property Awards drew a crowd of 850 to Manchester Central for an event that gave recognition for some familiar names, some new names and a regional leviathan of the industry honoured.
Television star Carol Smillie was our host for the evening, and proved to be an adroit commander of the room. Past winners were out in force to see a video montage of the decade’s property highlights and a presentation on what the awards have come to mean. The evening also saw £6,445 raised for the event’s chosen charity, the North West property industry’s own charity Norfox, which supports worthy causes for disadvantaged youngsters across the region.
As for the awards themselves, it was Spinningfields’ night. The £1bn-plus mega-scheme that has created a new business quarter between Manchester’s Deansgate and the River Irwell came into its own in 2007, making this a successful night for developer Allied London, Denton Corker Marshall – architect of the Civil Justice Centre – and DTZ, joint office agent on the scheme but rewarded for its breadth of work across the region.
