Wales Business Insider is delighted to be hosting a breakfast debate on the economy of Swansea and West Wales.

The region stands at a crossroads now, with big potential gains from up and coming industries such as energy and technology. But parts of the area are heavily dependent on public sector employment and local firms will have to be flexible to avoid being hit by spending cuts.

A panel of industry leaders and experts will debate questions from the audience on the big topics facing business in Swansea and West Wales.

Possible subjects for discussion include:

  • What’s the best way to develop the region’s economy?
  • What effect will public sector spending cuts have on the area?
  • Could the private sector, education institutions and public sector work together better?
  • What improvements would make Swansea and West Wales a better place to do business?
  • How can firms in the region access funding?
  • Coverage of the event, which is sponsored by Barclays Corporate and PwC, will appear in the July/August edition of Wales Business Insider.
