Insider’s economic debate roadshow will turn its attention to environmental technologies and renewable energy at a breakfast event in Bristol on the 28th June.
This is a complex emerging sector of the economy where the challenges and the potential rewards are substantial. The event will bring together leading environmental technologies and renewables businesses, plus investors and professional and public sector experts to debate the opportunity from all sides.
The South West is strong in environmental technologies, with trade bodies like Low Carbon South West demonstrating the collective power of the businesses here, but there is still lots of uncertainty around. This is partly due to the government’s mixed messages about the extent to which it will support activity in markets like renewables, and is partly due to the challenges involved in securing private sector investment. It’s also because in many corners of the market the technology is changing rapidly and in some cases is still pre-commercial.
Our panel of industry leaders and experts will debate the current financial, regulatory and technological landscape, and explore where the opportunities and risks are greatest.
