In challenging times it is even more important to invest wisely. Low demand for office and residential development has paved the way for a number of new hotels being built across the North West, regardless of the limited supply of funding. Suddenly the number of hotel rooms in the North West has significantly grown for the first time since 1997.
But what model for hotel development is best for you?
Developers and brand operators have taken advantage of the current climate to open a raft of hotels across the region, from Indigo due to be launched by Sanguine in Liverpool in June to the new Holiday Inn Express which opened on Oxford Road in Manchester in October last year.
The brand power and booking systems provided by IHG, Starwood or Hilton is very attractive to developers and investors. There are certainly benefits in going down this route.
However independent hotels such as The Lowry remain a by-word for quality and service. What sets them apart from the competition? What opportunities do independent hotel operators have to grow the business the way they see fit?
This panel discussion will aim to weigh up the options for developers and investors in the leisure sector in the North West. We have brought together a panel representing the different aspects of the debate who will share with you their thoughts on funding, marketing and branding.
