Insider Social Housing BreakfastInsider is delighted to be hosting a special business breakfast on social housing in the new economy.

The Comprehensive Spending Review underlined the major changes that social housing faces over the next few years, while the Localism Bill presented in Parliament in December threw into sharper relief the way in which the delivery of social housing will change.

This breakfast will attempt to unravel what these changes mean by gathering together a panel of experts from the field to discuss issues such as;

  • the role the new Local Enterprise Partnerships have to play with housing and regeneration;
  • how local authorities can be expected to adapt to the changes to the Homes & Community Agency;
  • the opportunities these changes will afford investors, developers, suppliers and other related businesses;
  • what role the private sector has in supplying new housing;
  • what impact funding shortages are having on the market as a whole, and how this affects supply and demand;
  • what impact the New Homes Bonus might have.
  •

    Confirmed panellists and speaker include Deborah McLaughlin, regional director of the Homes & Communities Agency, Derek Long, regional director of the National Housing Federation, Alison Ball, environment & sustainability leader (Merseyside), Arup, and Claire Griffiths, managing director, regeneration and commercial development.

    This event will provide a fascinating insight into how the housing industry could develop over the coming years, plus a first-class opportunity to network with senior figures from across the regional property industry.
