Energy efficiency and waste – the costs to your business

Energy efficiency - Increasing Government legislation (e.g. CRC Commitment), national targets for CO² reduction and international issues of security of energy supply are pushing energy prices upwards and increasing pressure on businesses of all sizes to improve their energy efficiency.
Waste – Rising costs of waste management and disposal, increasing restrictions on what can be landfilled and drives to increase recycling rates also pose both operational and financial challenges for businesses.
These are just a two of the issues facing businesses today and many struggle to know how to act or where to access help. The risks described above demand attention however there are many rewards to be gained from taking action. Many low cost or no cost actions can be easily adopted by businesses, which is particularly useful in the current climate of restricted bank lending and slow economic forecasts for 2011. These include reducing costs, gaining income, retaining contracts, entering new supply chains and improving brand perception amongst customers and stakeholders.
