The historic city of York continues to benefit from a strong tourism economy, which accounts for ten per cent of city employment. Recent investments in tourist attractions and hotels are designed to maintain its position as a must-see on any tourist’s itinerary.
But its not just the leisure tourist that York is targeting. Recent upgrades to the city’s conference offering, including the reopening of the Barbican Centre, plus quick rail links to London, mean that it is now a premier league business tourism destination.
