The Leeds City Region is one of the largest LEPs in the country and, at its heart, Leeds wants to be the ‘best city’ in the UK. The Local Enterprise Partnership has been assembled and key priorities for inward investment have been identified. So what next?
Transport has emerged as the number one priority. If you can get people moving around a region, the economic benefits are clear. It is now a year since Insider launched its ‘Back the Bid’ campaign, which aims to secure investment in Network Rail’s £560m Northern Hub plan, which will transform cross-pennine journey times. The plans are now with the government.
With comment and analysis from businesses, politicians and LEP partners, our in-depth report will update readers on progress made on the bid in the past 12 months and examine the undoubted business case for the full plan to be rolled out.
We will also look at some of the other ongoing projects that are at the tiop of the ‘to do’ list for the city region, including plans to bring the Green Investment Bank to Leeds.
