Trade – Doing Business with China

China is on course to become the world’s largest economy by 2050, a growth Britain is already capitalising on: the UK is the largest European investor in China and also one of the top European destinations for Chinese inward investment.

But for British business, there can still appear daunting hurdles to doing business with China. Adapting your product to the Chinese market, licensing approvals, staffing issues and concerns over IP rights chief among them – not to mention the sheer distance and cultural issues.

As such, is China still the real land of opportunity for UK businesses? More specifically, what levels of investment are coming into Yorkshire from Chinese companies? And are there particular sectors where Yorkshire can steal a march with Chinese partners?

Coinciding with our coverage of this year’s Yorkshire and Humber Chinese dinner, we will seek to answer such questions by talking to players in our region with strong links to China.
