This month’s feature will explore the extent to which the North West is and can be a media hub for the UK and Europe. Some believe that we are already there, with the likes of MediaCity and a host of creative and digital companies, but when there is a need to define the key sectors of the future with serious implications for workforce development is this true and how far have we got to travel to achieve this vision?
It will be an opportunity to ask what constitutes successful ‘media hub’, what drivers are needed to create and sustain one, and how our efforts compare to other success stories across the world. Insider will look at Manchester, Liverpool and the wider region, and speak to inward investment agencies and businesses in order to gauge what we are trying to do and how we can achieve it.
PLUS… What scope does the region have to become a technology hub? Schemes such as Software City in Liverpool have offered some consensus on North West strength in software and gaming, but where else are we showing strength in these areas? As London celebrates the growth of Silicon Roundabout on Old Street on the edge of the City, where is the North West’s answer?
