Deals - Private equity

If 2011 was measured by the number of trade buyers in the market, will 2012 be the year when private equity returns to the table? Anecdotal evidence suggests that overseas corporates, once the strongest bidders for UK assets, are cooling their interest in European investments. Couple this with a wall of private equity money, and this could be the time for more investment deals.

This feature will explore what companies can expect from investors in the next 12 months as buyout trends move forward. We’ll gauge what’s driving the industry to invest and how this will impact their behaviour in 2012. We’ll also speak to company directors with experience of running a company under private equity ownership to provide a real-life flavour of the realities.
