Social housing is a market that has shown more activity than purely private sector schemes that continue to be hobbled by a non-moving mortgage market. For some private developers, partnering with a social housing group may be the way forward.
In this report, we’ll look into how the sector has changed and the type of product it is offering – some organisations are leading the way, building up to Level 5 in the Code for Sustainable Development.
We want to hear how social housing organisations are looking to overcome challenges such as the cuts in government spending, the VAT increase to 20 per cent, reduced grants, changes to housing benefit and rent restructures. And with a waiting list of 1.8 million in England alone, what is the answer to overcoming the funding barrier?
