The first couple of months of 2010 will give us a good idea of where the regional office market is going. We speak to agents and developers working in the city centres and beyond to gauge whether supply is outstripping demand. We look at the schemes that are likely to complete during the year and focus on occupier demands relating to rents, sustainable buildings, lease lengths and terms and conditions.
Figures just released for the Birmingham city-centre market in 2009 show a fall off in take-up of space of about 30 per cent on the previous year, which given the state of the market may be seen as a positive result. Can we expect better in 2010?
